2022-2023 Scholarship Awardees

The Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Women’s Guild Scholarship is awarded once a year to five 8th-grade students who have been accepted to a Catholic High School and also fulfilled one of the following requirements: live in the city of Downey, attend a Downey School or are members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.

Fourteen applicants submitted portfolios with the required documentation as well as a personal statement. The portfolios included 7th and 8th-grade transcripts, acceptance letters to a Catholic High School, letters of recommendation, and the applicant’s personal statement.

Five $1250 scholarships were awarded this year.

The Catholic Women’s Guild is honored to announce the 2022-2023 Catholic Women’s Guild Scholarship recipients:

Hugo Pacheco- Loyola High School

Leia Cortez- Ramona Convent High School

Melissa Palencia- St. Joseph’s High School

Bella Rodriguez- St. Joseph’s High School
