Our Lady of Guadalupe Mañanita, Mass & Las Posada
On Sunday, December 12, the Church celebrates a special Feast in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary, under the title of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Vigil & Rosary
Join us on the vigil, December 11, 6:00 pm, in the church, to pray the rosary. Although the rosary will be in Spanish, we can express ourselves in the language of choice. Everyone is invited to bring flowers to place at the feet of Mary.
Mañanitas & Mass
On December 12, at 4:00 am, in the plaza of the Church, the mariachi, led by our own Spanish Mass musician, Efrain Andrade will lead us in the singing of “Mañanitas” to honor Mary on her special day. This is a special song that is uplifting and a loving tribute to our Blessed Mother.
The Mass in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe begins at 4:30 am inside the Church. The Mass will be bilingual.
After the Mass, all are invited for refreshments in the plaza.
December 18, 2021, at 6:00 pm
Las Posadas (Spanish for the “Inns”) is a religious festival celebrated between December 16th and the 24th commemorating the journey that Joseph and Mary made from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a safe refuge where Mary could give birth to the baby Jesus. When they were unable to find lodging in Bethlehem, Joseph and Mary were forced to seek shelter in a stable, where the Christ Child was born.
On Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 6 pm in the school hall, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Las Posadas will be celebrated. This event, hosted by the Hispanic community and coordinated with the help of various ministries in the parish, will be bilingual. The celebration includes a play that re-enacts the procession of lodgings being refused. There will be singing, refreshments, and piñatas for the children to break open. The children will be provided with baggies to collect their piñata candies. This is a festive opportunity for the whole community to come together in celebration.
Remember, all are welcomed! Come and join in this holy and festive event.
Hope to see you there!
